Handicraft Consultants

At present Sweden have 53 government-funded consultants located all over the country. The National Swedish Handicraft Council co-ordinates the consultancy operations, which include one consultant in each county for textiles and one for wood and metals, as well as five national consultants for Sami handicraft, bobbin lace and children and young people´s handicraft.

Responsible authorities for the county handicraft consultants are handicraft societies, county/regional councils or county museums. The county/regional councils finance at least half of the consultancy operations and are important partners at the regional level.
